AWOL?

Not really.

For those wondering why I wasn't at the special selectmen's meeting on Wednesday, it was because I had prior commitments. One of my daughters had a softball game, the other had softball practice, and my wife couldn't drive because she had minor surgery on Tuesday. I let Chairman Ahmed Mustafa know that I would be late, if I made it to the meeting at all.

No need to worry, though. Chairman Mustafa assured me that there would be no votes taken - that this meeting was only to allow the public an opportunity to weigh-in on the proposal(s).

I'll be following up and reviewing the minutes so that I've a feel for where the public wants to go with this, although it's already apparent that privatization of the waste management facility (WMF, a.k.a., the dump) is not a popular idea.
