Feedback

While there were protests from another selectman, and one of our local papers would rather "move on", the response to my request for an investigation/audit/comprehensive review/(insert your favorite synonym here) of the high school renovation project has been pretty consistent.

Here's a sampling...

"And I would not in any way agree to taking it [the petitioner's article] off the warrant!--The process needs to be examined closely! It [this new information] is a beginning--of course much of what Duffy said is being done should have been an ongoing part of the process for an 86 million dollar project!"

"I have one thing to say Don't back down, keep up the fight - this project is a blemish on our town. The selectmen's office was supposed to take over and be the watchdog and clearly they aren't doing that job. Keep it up!"

"Hang in there Brent. The people who elected you would like to know how the high school project could have gone so wrong. It's about learning from your mistakes. And its about accountability. Its about accepting responsibility for your failures...There will be other large scale projects in Town. Wastewater disposal is one obvious one. We can't let the same mistakes happen again. We need to know how things got so screwed up....We don't need consensus in Town. We need answers."

"I want to congratulate you again after listening to you last night."

Finally, in a letter to the Falmouth Enterprise, Edward Haddad stated, "Are the taxpayers not allowed an accounting of how their tax dollars have been misspent? ...the taxpayers of Falmouth deserve better and wounded egos do not justify burying heads in the sand."

If you happen to disagree with these folks, please tell me.

All that said; let us not lose sight of the fact that - as Frank Duffy noted - there is some semblance of an audit/investigation being conducted. Whether this information will adequately answer all of your questions remains to be seen.

Stay tuned.
