At least one member of the Coonamessett River Park Coalition (the organization that has been trying to shut down cranberry farming on the town owned Coonamessett River cranberry bogs) was despondent over the decision to lease the bogs. They apparently felt that the Falmouth Conservation Commission had abandoned all efforts to restore the river. This just proves that in spite of claims to the contrary, there are those who are anti-cranberry.
And frankly, restoration is a pipe dream; even the experts will tell you that. To restore something is to return it to it's original state - something that will never happen to the Coonamessett, even if every cranberry bog were abandoned. What will happen is an improvement to the river habitat.

Even with cranberry farming.
